Who we are
Breathing Life into History
At Hugo Montgomery, we are driven by a deep passion for preserving history and enabling it to continue telling its story.
Our Owner and Director, David Glasgow, leads the way with over 40 years of experience in the industry. As a second-generation family business, David’s journey began as an architectural blacksmith, where he honed his craft before working with Crittall windows for local councils.
David’s ethos has always been rooted in restoring the beauty of the world around us, with a particular focus on preserving the natural world. Recognising the importance of sustainability, he sought to ensure that the materials we work with—whether timber, metal, or glass—are treated with care and respect. Every tree, every frame, has its own story, and David was determined to guide the company in a direction where history is not destroyed, but rather revived and given new life.
After his success with Crittall windows, David identified an opportunity to grow the business with a focus on heritage restoration and bespoke craftsmanship, ensuring that the legacy of each project would live on for generations to come.
At Hugo Montgomery, we are committed to combining traditional techniques with modern innovation to preserve the beauty and history of every piece we touch.

About Us
Sustainability at the
Heart of Our Work
We believe in sustainable solutions. By preserving up to 80% of the original window we can help protect our planet while maintaining your building’s authentic charm.
On average, producing a new window uses approximately 6 large trees! By restoring and preserving where possible we can help reduce this significantly and we are committed to working to a sustainable future.
For 2025, we have pledged to support Trees for Life. Trees for Life are rewilding the Scottish highlands and we are proud to be able to support their initiative in our Scottish back garden!
